WARNING – Use this at your own risk
I ran into a situation where a client was going to be on vacation for a week and wanted another person in the office to get the emails the system creates when an order is confirmed.
The were running Virtuemart VM 2.0.26d
Looking through posts on the subject it seemed that it was nearly impossible to change or add emails. There were some discussions about setting up email forwarders but that didn’t seem to be the answer. The version of cpanel that the client was using did not seem to provide mailing lists or forwards to multiple emails.
VM will send the emails to the first Joomla superuser. However, in this install, someone had modified the tables to make one of the employees, who was a superuser, the VM Vendor.
The simplest solution for a temporary change is TO CHANGE THE EMAIL OF THE SUPERUSER’S JOOMLA ACCOUNT.. This is the superuser who is currently getting the order confirmation emails.
So,
- Have the superuser log in to joomla using their account
- Go to Site – My Profile
- Change the email address to the person you want to have receiving the emails
- TEST, Test, test and test.
- If sue has a joomla or vm account, then change her joomla account email first
- then change the joomla superuser email
